# Boost Metabolism # Weight loss tips

5 habits that could be slowing down your metabolism.

Two days ago, I wrote about little things that one could do to boost his/her metabolism so as to burn more calories and increase the body's ability to lose weight during the day. okay, so today I want to share a few things you could be doing, that are hindering to your weight loss.

I have heard and read thousands of stories where people say they "eat well, healthy meals, they exercise but the weight has refused to come off" Truth is, if you do things the right way, the fat will come off. Something must be wrong somewhere....If care is not taken, you could even be gaining weight.

Check these;

  1.  Not exercising at all: 15 mins of any form of exercise a day is very good for the body. Not exercising leaves you moody, tired and grouchy through the day. Your body generally slows down on days where you didn't exercise.
  2. Lack of sleep: I talk about sleep a lot because its very important. Not sleeping enough could be the reason you are not losing weight, no matter how hard you tried. Leave late night movies and go to bed!!! You know thyself...Lol 6 to 8 hrs of sleep is ideal.
  3. Eating too little: Starvation!!! hehehehehehe! Who is guilty of this? You are slowing down your metabolism, your body isn't burning as much energy as it is meant to because, it is trying to save your life, it doesn't want you to die, especially since you refused to feed it. Hahaha!
  4. Eating to much: Over loading your body with excess food at once, no be am. When you over eat, the body will slow down, because its trying to do different things at the same time, hence the tired feeling after a huge meal. Next thing na to sleep. After a sizable meal, you should feel ready to go run a marathon, not ready for bed.
  5. Not drinking enough water. Where are those people that are afraid of water? Water isnt the enemy, you need to have at least 8 glasses a day to get things flowing, to help digestion, cool down the body and hydrate the system. This keeps your body at a steady temperature and always burning energy.
Do you think any of these is the reason you are not losing as much weight as you wanted? Kindly comment, I would love to know. Thanks and God bless.

  1. Dearest Cheliz. I'm new to your blog, I read your inspiring story on Bellanaija, pls I need your help. Before i got married i've been taking this pill (don't wanna mention the name here) and it actually worked for me, i turned from orobo with hunch-back to lepka in just 3 months and after 7 months the drug stopped working for me (it makes u lose appetite), so i stopped it cos i was wasting my money. But the thing is after given birth to my first child I've added so much weight, my stomach is on another level. I now weigh 83kgs. Pls I'm in desperate need to change my eating ways. I dont wanna go to the gym cos I want to have another child first before I do the heavy gym workouts, not pregnant yet but I'm hoping. Is there any form of workout and eating habits that could make me lose weight. My hubby is okay with the weight but I'm not, I now look like my husband's elder sister (it's that bad). Here is my e-mail address commybob@gmail.com. will be happy to hear from you.

    1. Hihi,
      Ok, i will mail you soon. Please know that exercise will not limit your chances of conceiving, rather it will increase them. Moderate exercise is good for everyone.
