# #WORKIT CHALLENGE # challenge

Results after Week 1 of the #workit challenge.

Good morning Sweeties,
How did the weekend go? I wish you all the best as we enter a new week. I received the week 1 results from the contestants over the weekend. Hmm, most of you (contestants) were disappointed that you didn't lose much, (according to you; "as i expected"). I just dey laugh! Trust me i know how you feel, but remember that you have 7 weeks to go and that to me. is a long time.More than enough time to see changes.

Why i love this idea of losing weight naturally is that it teaches you a lot, you get to learn many new lessons. Patience, hard work, perseverance, tolerance, self control, endurance etc. These lessons will help you sustain and maintain your new body, and new life. It doesn't come easy. You have to work for it seriously. Don't be bothered about the scale, keep working hard, results will show.....Which brings me to say that:

I have decided NOT to judge this competition based on the scale alone (i.e Whoever loses more). I will judge also on physical changes. 20% Scale and 80% physical change. What i mean for instance is; Lets say you lose up to 15 kg at the end of the challenge, it has to reflect on your body/figure. If you lose 15 kg and we cant see the changes on you, then 'oyo' is ya case. I want this competition to be as fair as possible. I will use my church mind to decide. Lol.

If your pic is not here, its either you didn't  send to me at all, network, or you didn't fix the #workit sign in your pic. There are 11 contestants now in the running. Here they are:

Amanda: From 78.7kg to 76.2kg. (Lost 2.5kg)

Akin: from 75.9kg to 76kg (gained 0.1 kg)

Nena: From 78kg to 76.4kg (lost 1.6kg)

Flora: From 98.2kg to 96.9kg (1.3kg)

Ladi: From 91.7kg to 86.8kg (Lost 4.9kg)

Louisa: From 91.9kg to 89.7kg (Lost 2.2kg)

Wunmi: From 69.2kg to 68.9kg (Lost 0.3kg)

Tess: From 81.8kg to 80.9kg (Lost 0.9kg)

Pat: From 89.3kg to 88.8kg (Lost 0.7kg)

Sweetpie: From 74.7kg to 73.7kg (Lost 1kg)

Titi: from 91.3kg to 90.2kg (lost 1.1kg)

MissB: From 101.1kg to 100.4kg (Lost 0.7kg)

Please sweets, try not to be too hard on yourselves, take things easy and work out at your own pace, just try and push yourself a bit for more results. It took a while to gain the weight, it will take a while to lose it all, so be very patient. Its too early to tell who the winner will be, anything can happen, don't be sad if you didn't lose anything, or if its very little in your eyes. We still have enough time, so just make sure you stay focused and #workit When you feel like quitting, remember that pair of skinny jeans you just bought. *wink! All the best guys. God bless.
Cheliz.

  2. Thanks soo much cheliz for taking us on this journey, for your dedications, i know must of us wont believe their eyes. imagine some body losing almost 5kg in one week. you see we can do this. i didnt lose much but to me i did great, we all did great. some of us have been on this journey since june it has not been soo easy for us and some just joined us, new people are seeing some drastic result while old members are fighting to break our plateau which is soo hard. if you lost an inch or you even gained it doesn't matter the most important thing is that we have identified that we have some weight to shed and that we doing our best to burn this fat, we will definitely reach our weight targets, so lets congratulate and encourage each other. because we all this a wonderful job. Kudos everybody.

  5. My friend dices lemon into 4 and boils it. She takes it 3 times daily whenever she wants to take it, she takes it hot. Pls do you feel that's an effective way to lose weight asides from exercising. And yes it worked for her as she lost 7kg in a month.

    1. Hi. Not sure if that is what helped her lose the weight but what im sure about is that boiling the lemon before drinking is wrong. There isnt much benefit in doing so. To tap as much benefits and nutrients from fruits and veggies, its best to eat thwm raw. Do u boil banana or orange before eating? Rather you boil herbs and spices of you need to, so as to get the natural oils, aroma and healing properties in them. They have much tougher skin or shells as the case may be. Another question is, does she eat while drinking the stuff. Of she is starving and drinking the lemon, definately, she will lose weight, and that kind of weight loss is not sustainable. Cheers.

  10. Tried posting yesterday but the network in my place was terrible. Hmmmm. Even I do not believe I actually lost 4.9kg o. Although I was very active through the week. I started with jogging for about an hour the first day and discontinued jogging due to the rain. So I did 45mins cardio using dvd every day until Wednesday when I participated in 3 days fasting and prayer in church which also involved a lot of praises so I made sure I danced with all my might and sweated very well. I also continued the praises at home at nights since we were asked to do it this month in my church. So my level of physical activity was really high and I cut down drastically on my food intake and ate mostly veggies, Acha and garden egg. I didn't even do the squats Cheliz recommended. I actually wish I can keep this up but I'm already experiencing serious knee pain right now and can't even workout. It is well. We all did well. May God see us through. Well done guys. We will surely get there. @Cheliz, thanks for this opportunity.

  11. Hello Cheliz please I want to ask u a few questions. Pardon my naive self. When I work out, I mostly sweat on my face, neck and arms.. Does that mean those are d only places I'm losing weight? 2) in counting calories.. Does the content matter? Eg, let's say 3cups of vegetables contains 300 calories. Wud it hv d same effect as eating eba, rice, cake or anything else with same 300 calories. Tnks

    1. Lol. Not to worry dear. any one that doesn't ask questions cannot learn right? Your questions are always welcome here. To answer your question: 1. No it doesn't mean that those are the ONLY places that you are losing weight at. It may mean that you are burning the most calories there tho. Consider also the fact that when you workout, your face, neck and arms are open, doesn't mean that you are not sweating in between your thighs, abs, waist or legs. 2. In the real sense of counting calories, yes its the same. But nutritionally, you cant compare 300 calories of vegetables to 300 calories of junk. yes thats what they are, pure junk. Empty calories. You are just feeding your body junk, which will take time to break down and slow down the weight loss process. Whereas, 300 calories of veggies is like 300 buckets of mega nutrients, buckets and buckets of energy and fat burning ingredients. The amount of nutrients in 300 calories of veggies is nothing compared to a small piece of cake. I will do a post on this so that you can understand. I will try to use pictures to explain. Thanks dear. I hope this helped a bit?

  12. hello cheliz, thanks alot for answering that question well...i have some in relation to the calorie counting...
i know eba, rice, yam, spagetti isnt good etc but can u kindly point out how much calories can be gotten from our nigerian foods pls... which of these carbohydrates has the lowest calories? looking forward to your response. ibi

    1. Hi Ibi, When trying to lose weight or eat healthy, aim for foods in its purest or natural form I.e unprocessed food. Eba , brown rice, yam are good for you and are full of nutrients. But you must watch your portions. portion control is key. Even with fruits and some veggies, you must watch ur portions. The only foods I can advise you eat in large quantities are greens. They are very low in calories. If you need more info on nigerian foods and how to eat them to lose weight then come aboard my food blog or order a meal plan. Lol! Cheers.
