Motivation Monday: Stay strong!

Hi sweets, I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  I wish you all a blessed week. I may not bring you any motivational weight loss story today, but i bring motivational words which i think are as important.

This blog isn't all about weight loss and looking fab. Feeling good about yourself, loving yourself, feeling healthy, and loving others around you is more important to me than anything.

This is for those that can't seem to find the strength to do what they really need/want to do.
Before trying to lose weight, or looking fabulous, you need to check off somethings on your list so that you can go on that journey and reach your destination (goal). Here are some tips:

  1. Love yourself. Love who God has made you to be, look within and you will see.
  2. Identify your weak areas, is it food is it excess sleep, is it that you always feel tired (you might need to see a doctor) Some people could be really ill (God forbid) and not know it. Early diagnosis will go a long way.
  3. When you have identified your weak areas, now work on them. If you cant, then ask someone for help. Don't hide yourself and keep bottling them in. Self denial will get you nowhere.
  4. Look for a support system. Be it a good friend, your family, a good book. Just something or someone you can talk to or fall back on when the going gets tough.
  5. This may be hard for some people to do. You need to cut of bad friends. Some friends are so bad that they go to bed angry at you for nothing and wishing you negative things and unfortunately, some of those thoughts have a way of affecting you that is their friend. Be wise. If you cant identify such friends, then ask for divine help.
  6. Pray about it. Prayer always works trust me. Jesus is just waiting for you to open up to Him.
  7. Try and pay it forward. Show kindness to people around you. Make it a rule, pay 2 or more people each a compliment daily. There is just something about showing kindness to someone, it makes you feel so good, no amount of money can buy that.
  8. Try and create a work-life balance. All work and no play makes .......a .....girl/boy. Hahahaha! Fill in the blanks.
  9. Start small, think big. Write down your goals and draw a path with which you will follow, know that you have to start from somewhere and work your way up. Every journey begins with one step, Its not magic.
  10. Now when you have mastered these things above, set out on your journey with a lighter load and a softer heart. lol.

I know lot of people are struggling these day, i know. Yes they really, really need and want to shed weight but that's like the last thing on their mind right now. Some aren't even sure about tomorrows lunch or their children's next school fees or maybe they have parents sick in the hospital, family problems, marital problems, loads of issues here and there. I totally feel you. All i can say now is stay strong, very strong and pray. Take it to God in prayer, He will lighten that load and make you feel better. I leave you with the bible verses below.

  • Psalm 34:15-17
  • Psalm 37: 3-4
  • Luke 10: 41, 42
  • Jeremiah 17: 5-8

Take care and God bless.
Cheliz.

  2. Good morning Cheliz, trust you are doing well too. Thanks for sharing, this is enough motivation for the week. Last week was quite hectic for me, couldn't focus so much on my weight loss journey. it was bad that I didn't even drink required amount of water every single day, but I am staying STRONG and back on track now. And each time I feel like falling off the wagon I "remember why I started, my target and what I have achieved so far -the fear of gaining weight is the beginning of weight loss hardwork o" Thanks for being there always"Cheliz. Fina and Pat how is July going ? Miss B

    2. Ms. B, before this post I would have said I'm hanging in there, but now I'll say I'm holding on, and thanking God for each accomplished day. Especially each day I'm able to workout:) Didn't workout on Sunday no matter how hard I tried to talk myself into doing it. So instead of beating myself up, enjoyed my day and woke up early and exercised, adding extra time. And that's a victory for me:) Stay strong and thanks for checking in.

  4. JUST SHARING - I am one of the people that used to think that water makes one gain weight, so I drink little water everyday until we did #shape up June. I drank a lot of water and I realized water is actually very good and aids weight loss. No 2- this actually makes me laugh each time it crosses my mind- long time ago, I could eat 10Bananas, 4apples at a sitting all in the name of ":watching my weight and that I would rather eat fruits instead of food". Little did I know that one also needs portion control even if you are eating fruits. No3. I used to buy beans, fried plantain, meat (orisirisi) all because I heard protein is better for weight loss than carbs, even the calories in buying oily beans from outside is enough harm to the body. I know better now, I humbly cook my food by myself now. ignorance is not good o. Thanks Babes for the knowledge you have shared. God will continue to bless you for us. MissB

Thanks so much for this testimony, especially the one about water. You wont believe the number of people that still believe that water is what makes them fat. Nne God bless you again and again. Keep it up! Luv u big big!!

  5. Amen. Hahahahahaha, it is true o. I used to be a #weighing scale junkie (I used to check twice daily) LOL . So when I drink a lot of water during the day, my weight will probably increase by evening, but trust me by morning its all gone. My normal weight will be staring at me. This one na serious testimony. Luv u plenty Cheliz,, you are doing a great job. MissB

    1. Abbie dear you were missed o, welcome back. That's a serious plateau right there. Yes, you can try atkins and see if the scale will shift. But i want to ask, are you sure that you really put in your best with the workout and other stuff you tried already? If so then carry on with the Atkins. Please let u know how your progressing with it. Take care.

  10. @PAT, that's good to hear, lets remain strong. Losing weight for me is quite slow but patience is a virtue which I now have. Lol Now I understand why Cheliz said "ö boy I worked out my butt when I started" in her motivation story. Its not easy o, but I am also increasing the efforts I put in my workout daily. God will see us through. MissB
