# butt exercises # challenge

My Favorite 5 Butt and Thigh workouts.

Hi Sweets, how has your weekend been? I am so excited, i couldn't wait till tomorrow to post this. I have a small challenge (no price) included in this post, read on....

When we lose weight, the whole body tends to benefit from it. What i mean is that we lose weight all round, maybe at different rates, but its still an all round weight loss. Its hard to isolate a part of the body for weight loss. After the generally weight loss, its always best to tone and sculpt parts of the body that are giggly or flabby i wrote about this last week. Today, i just want to talk about the butt and thighs.

I have always been a believer of home workouts, it gives me the space and opportunity to express myself the way i want without feeling shy, besides i burn more calories by doing the major exercises that i need. Not that i'm condemning the gym o. But in my opinion, its best to mix things up for better results.
So, in my long months of home workouts, i discovered the best butt and thigh workouts for me (again in my opinion).There are thousands of lower body workouts out there but, i want to share my favorite 5 with you. With toned butt and legs, every outfit looks good. Lol.

My favorite 5 butt and thigh workouts:

  1. Running/jogging/walking:
    For some time now, i have developed major love for walking and jogging. I just plug in my music and go. I start by brisk-walking for 10 mins then jog and run for 10 mins, over and over.....just like that till i hit 4 miles. On some good days i do 6 to 8 miles. Its a fun way for me to keep the weight off and get some fresh air too. It leaves my thighs burning for days. Hint: Try walking up hill for more calorie burn. Listen fast paced music.
  2. Climbing stairs: 
    I don't get to do this as often as i would have because, i have just 3 stairs to play with :(  Anyways, i don't let that stop me, i speed up the process to burn more calories. If you have stairs in your home, try running up and down 5 times, then tell me how you feel afterwards. Haaha!
  3. Front Knee Lunges:
    This particular exercise is not just for toning leg muscles, it burns fat too, so everyone can do this, even beginners. Just make sure you do up to 5 sets at a time for maximum burn. How to: standing straight, with your hands on your waist (or you can carry dumbbells) move into a one leg lunge(one leg bent at the knee in front of you) Make sure your knee is parallel to your toes, to avoid knee injury. repeat by alternating your legs. 
  4. Bent-Knee donkey kicks:
    This one is not beans o, if its your first time, just know that you will feel the pain for days.  How to: Get on all fours to the floor, then kick back one leg with the knee bent, then bring it back to the floor, repeat with the same leg. Do 3 sets of 10-20 reps with each leg. Alternate the legs after each set. Do this on your rug or use a yoga mat.
  5. Squats:
    Hmmm, i saved this one for last because it my most favorite of the 5. I'm sure most people know how to do squats. Its important though to do it the right way, make sure your knee is always parallel to your toes when you squat. The key here is to do as many squats as possible. It burns like madt!!  The good news is that it tones the abs as well.

I want to include a small challenge here. This is why i actually wrote this post, I feel the need to tone up my butt and thighs the more. I want to see if i can achieve 2000 squats this week (Monday to Friday). It means i will do 400 squats a day! Anyone willing to join me, or am i on my own? You can half if by doing 200 in the morning and 200 at night. Make sure you don't cheat plzzz!. Wooohooo!!! Lets push ourselves guys!! We can do it!! *Please always start with a 3 min cardio and stretch after the entire workout.*
*I think everyone on the 'shape up' June challenge should try this. If not for one week, but for 3 days at least. It will boost your weight loss immensely*

You know what? At the end of the day, we cannot all have 'hour-glass' figures, but we can work to get lean and sexy legs. Yeah? Stay strong. God bless.

    1. Hmmm. Pls who told you this? Its my first time of hearing such. If anything, pure green tea will improve your chances of having a baby. Its more than just an antioxidant. I cant even begin to mention. Take care.

  3. Squats also helps you have a bigger bumbum as well:) do this for 4weeks and you"ll see. Mana akpahum ume nji eme squats sha *call me lazy later

    3. Hi dear, if you have big bum and ur over weight u can sure do squats. It burns the fat in that area. It only makes it look bigger when you must have lost weight and ur body starts building muscles. Its the muscles that make it look firm and big so to speak. U feel me? Lol. Ok see it this way, Fat has to go for muscles to pack in. Hehee

  4. Pls can you recomend a particular brand of green tea that I can buy, and pls is it tru dat lime (osan wewe) also helps weight loss. Thanks

    1. There are a loads of good brands out there but try legend green tea or twinings pure green tea. Since I started my weight loss journey, I never used lime forna day. They are very acidic and yet not as potent as lemons when it comes to weight loss. Thanks.

    1. Hi dear, Qualitea is good. I have only tried it once, wasn't bad. There are many good brands out there dear, it all depends on you. But, i recommended legend tea and twinnings because i have used them for long. Thanks.

  6. Ok...I used the stairs today for 15mins(had to prepare for work)didn't want to stop,the sweats were dropping , am feeling good oooo.You are a God sent.Bear hugsssssssssssssssssss.
